We're lucky at Kirkwood to be situated in close proximity to three major airports... Reno-Tahoe International (RNO) is the closest, followed by Sacramento International (SMF), and San Francisco International (SFO).
From the Reno/Tahoe International Airport
Exit the airport on East Plumb Lane to Highway 395 South. Take exit 57B to remain on Highway 395. After driving 35 miles on Hwy 395, turn right onto Highway 88. Follow Hwy 88 for 34 miles, then turn left onto Kirkwood Meadows Dr.
From South Lake Tahoe
Take US 50 (Lake Tahoe Blvd) West to intersection of US 50 and Hwy 89. Turn left onto Emerald Bay Road at this intersection and drive towards Meyers (follow the signs for Placerville and Sacramento). Turn left on Hwy 89 South at Meyers, then follow Hwy 89 to the junction of Hwy 88. Turn right onto Hwy 88, then drive West 14 miles before turning left onto Kirkwood Meadows Drive.
From San Francisco via Highway 88
Take interstate 580 East to the junction with Interstate 205 East. Follow Interstate 205 for 13 miles to enter Interstate 5 North. After 13 miles, exit onto Highway 4 East which will take you to Highway 99 North. Drive approximately 2 miles to the exit for Highway 88 towards Jackson. Drive 97 miles along Highway 88, then turn right onto Kirkwood Meadows Drive.
From San Francisco via Highway 50
Take Interstate 80 East to Sacramento. Interstate 80 will become US 50 East in Sacramento. Follow US 50 for 93 miles, then turn right on Highway 89 South. Follow Highway 89 South to the junction with Highway 88 West and turn right onto Highway 88. Follow Highway 88 for 14 miles then turn left onto Kirkwood Meadows Dr.
From Sacramento via Highway 88
Take US 50 to the Howe Avenue / Power Inn Road exit. Drive South on Power Inn Road, take a left turn onto Folsom Blvd. Then veer right onto Jackson Road/ Highway 16 East. After 30 miles on Route 16, turn right onto Highway 49 South. After 10 miles on Highway 49 South, turn left onto Highway 88 East. Follow Hwy 88 for 55 miles, then turn right onto Kirkwood Meadows Drive.
From Sacramento via Highway 50
Take US 50 East to South Lake Tahoe. Turn right onto Highway 89, then proceed to the junction with Hwy 88 West. Follow Hwy 88 West for 14 miles, then turn left onto Kirkwood Meadows Drive.
